Cornell Must Provide Partial Tuition Refunds for Spring Semester '20
The Issue
I understand that coronavirus is completely out of anyone's control, including the Cornell administration. However, being forced to pay for nearly 3 months of education (March, April, May) that we (the students) will never receive, is outrageous. Student loan debt is already a major problem for many Cornellians and college students across the nation. Adding to that enormous debt for an online college experience, which no one has consented to, is ludicrous. Cornell's expenses will be significantly lower because the campus will be shut down meaning they should have plenty of funds to return to the students and their families. Paying almost $15,000, and adding that amount to students' debts who are forced to take out loans, for a few months of online school is not what we signed up for. Please don't allow the Cornell administration to scam us out of any more money by signing this petition.
