SAFETY: Demand Free Community Indoor Volleyball in Clarendon Hills!
The Issue

📍 Located in Clarendon Hills, Illinois.
Hundreds of volleyball athletes are facing unbelievable challenges, and these struggles are just getting worse. As athletes constantly reach their breaking points by juggling health and attempting to reach success in all areas of life, five issues stand out:
Weather:
The Illinois Natural Resources Department has reported how climate change and severe weather have risen at an unprecedented rate, followed by heavy rainfall. While our community enjoys the hot and humid pool summers to the cozy hot chocolate with marshmallows in the winter, these four seasons of diverse weather make it ridiculously hard for athletes to practice.
Cost:
Within Clarendon Hills, there are no community free indoor volleyball courts that can help resolve our issues. On top of spending thousands of dollars for safety equipment, clubs, accessories, school volleyball, competitions, travel, and their daily life, they are forced to buy pricey court subscriptions from for-profit companies.
Availability:
A lot of paid courts near Clarendon Hills, such as the one in Downers Grove Park District, often do not include proper accessibility requirements and use inflexible schedules that force volleyball athletes to unreasonably shift hours or burn in 95 Fahrenheit weather. However, even then, athletes have to travel to neighboring districts just for a decent volleyball court.
Injury:
The lack of flat and safe terrain in outdoor environments can increase the likelihood of injury for athletes who run, jump, pant, and repeat. The physical strain can cause further mental and physical injury. It becomes life-threatening for victims of lung disease, like asthma.
Safety:
Even late into the evening, exhausted athletes practice for tournaments. The lighting, helpful staff, and kind community that arrives with the facility will help volleyball athletes recover their safety and gain confidence.
Safety, inclusion, and success should not have a price tag. Using an existing facility, it is time to build what weather, cost, limited availability, injury, and neglect destroy.
- It's time to change lives, one vote at a time.
