Before I start: I am a huge football fan and followed the World Cup football since 1970, with tremendous peak performances by the Dutch National Team ("Oranje") in 1974, '78, '98, '10 and '14. I was 16 when the 1978 Argentina world cup was on and not a clue about what happened there under the Junta rule. Now, however, ignorance is not longer luxury we can afford. In Qatar, home of the World Cup 2022, 1,400 people (we know of) died in horrific circumstances, constructing the football temples there. 1000s of slave workers are there at work now, imported as chattel from Pakistan and Nepal. Worked to death. All for the money grabbing industry that has become: football. Our Dutch Internationals grew some balls (...) and decided to boycott a Dutch tv show for some bad racist jokes. How about the manly Dutch heroes do something real with their support of "Black Lives Matter". Boycott the World Cup Qatar. Make a real statement. And see if Belgium, England, Denmark and other liberal nations will follow. It's a disgrace to use slaves like the Egyptians did in the Pyramid times, to build us temples which are used to sustain a billion dollar industry. Shame on us!
