Hi my name is Elisha Lee, candidate for Jells Ward in Wheelers Hill, in the upcoming Monash Council Elections. I share the concerns of many local community members about the increasingly hazardous conditions at the Whites Lane/Springvale Road intersection.

The intersection lies in the vicinity of three schools; Glen Waverley South PS, Brentwood SC, and Wheelers Hill PS, making it an area of intensified traffic during school pick-up and drop-off times.

The lack of traffic control, the faded ‘KEEP CLEAR’ sign and the ambiguous no-stopping zone all contribute to these safety concerns.

Proper signage and clearer marking of no-stopping zones can go a long way in preventing accidents, and traffic lights would improve overall road safety.
