Save Lives in SC! Tyler's Law will require beacons be issued in SC for hunters/fisherman.

Save Lives in SC! Tyler's Law will require beacons be issued in SC for hunters/fisherman.
The Issue
PETITION FOR TYLER'S BEACON LAW:
In light of the recent events surrounding the disappearance of duck hunter Tyler Doyle from the North Jetty in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the Doyle family, friends and the local community of Horry County, South Carolina are proposing Tyler's Beacon Law for issuance of "TYLERS BEACON".
This law will ensure all game hunters and fisherman who receive a license in the state of South Carolina will also receive a waterproof beacon with a serial number.
This beacon will be known as "TYLERS BEACON".
The Serial ID # and persons name will be registered with the state of SC.
In the event the person who is issued "TYLERS BEACON" goes missing, the traceable device can help locate them in an emergency situation.
The Doyle Family wants to help other families in the future from having to undergo the unimaginable heartache they are suffering right now.
The petition for Tyler's Beacon Law is being initiated to encourage South Carolina state legislation to mandate a law or enact a guideline to require safety beacons for specific outdoor activities, such as hunting and fishing, starting in the state of South Carolina.
The family feels it may be best to include the beacon with the issuance of a SC hunting or fishing license.
The petition seeks to ask SC Legislation to mandate all game hunters and fisherman within the state of South Carolina to wear a waterproof beacon, known as "TYLERS BEACON", while hunting, fishing or using their water recreation vehicles while in the waterways, rivers, and ocean of the state of South Carolina.
Whether there is a boating accident or an unforeseen emergent situation that occurs, TIME MATTERS.
"TYLERS BEACON" could be the difference in finding someone alive or deceased. Time is of the essence. A life saved is priceless.
The waterproof beacon would be issued in conjunction with a boating, fishing or hunting license within the state of South Carolina.
Additional beacons for family and friends can be acquired at the time of license application, for a charge to be determined by the state.
It is the opinion of Tyler's family, friends and community that any nominal charges incurred by the issuance of the beacons will pale by comparison to the unimaginable suffering of not knowing for weeks and months on end what happened to a missing loved one.
This is a safety protocol, not unlike the use of motorcycle helmets or seat belts.
We feel if these traceable waterproof beacons can save one family member, considering the pain and suffering that Tyler's family has endured, Tyler's Law will pay for itself tenfold.
Please sign the petition for Tyler's Law and "TYLERS BEACON".
Remember. Signing this petition not only can help save a hunter or fisherman's life; but signing is a way to show Tyler's Beacon Law matters to you!
The Doyle Family's wish is that no family in the future will have to endure the agony of not being able to recover their loved one from an unfortunate event while engaging in their favorite outdoor activity on the water.
I am helping the Doyle Family start this Petition to help create more awareness and push to provide more education about water safety measures when hunting and fishing in South Carolina.
We hope other states will follow suit nationwide in the spreading the awareness, providing education and enacting necessary protocols for water safety while hunting or fishing in their respective states.
Thank you for taking the time to support this petition!
