David Lynch created TV-14 edits for Twin Peaks: The Return Part 1 and Part 2, which were briefly published to YouTube by Showtime and deleted days later. These edits were highly​ appreciated for their satirical over-censorship, including totally changed voice lines and black rectangles around the red room statue's breasts, a corpse and the 'Experiment's breasts, among other changes. However, they were removed after a short "sampling window" lasting only three days. It would be a shame to see them lost to time, especially seeing as they were edited by and reflect the values and humor of Lynch himself.

These unique, alternate versions of Twin Peaks episodes are worth preservation. Just like the alternate international ending to the original Twin Peaks pilot before it, which was later rereleased in the Definitive Gold Box Edition, it deserves to be available to and seen by future generations.
