Transform the old Six Flags in New Orleans East to a fit trail, urban farm and arboretum!

The Issue

The old Six Flags represents inequity in the New Orleans community. Dilapidated images and blithe such as this do not exist in West New Orleans, Uptown, Central City or other gentrified parts of New Orleans. However, in New Orleans East, where the residents are primarily African American, Vietnamese, or Latino/a the old Six Flags remains an eye-sore and affront to equity in New Orleans. Changing this site to an arboretum and urban farm with bike, walking and running trails serves as a tangible sign that New Orleans values equity. Instead of demolishing the old rides, they can be fenced-in and transformed to an open-air STEAM museum.

Or

Transform the site into a space that provides youth employment and stimulate the economy in New Orleans East.

Whatever the decision, lets not just talk about equity, let’s show the world that we are really about equity.
