Bipartisan Bills H4145 & S907-119th Congress - Corrections to Camp Lejeune Justice Act

The Issue

NO DONATION REQUIRED TO SIGN

For decades veterans, civilians, and family members stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina were exposed to contaminated water containing hazardous chemicals like trichloroethylene (TCE), perchloroethylene (PCE), benzene, and vinyl chloride. These contaminants have been linked to severe health issues including various cancers, birth defects, and neurological disorders.

Despite the many risks and the suffering endured by hundreds of thousands of individuals, many are still struggling for recognition and justice.

In 2022, the Camp Lejeune Justice Act was signed into law. That was a monumental achievement, however, there are over 500,000 cases to be heard by only four Federal Judges. As one of the judges put it, "that would take 100 years!"

These Bipartisan Bills (HR 4145 & S907) address unforeseen consequences of the Camp Lejeune Justice Act by: clarifying the right to jury trials, capping attorneys' fees, and expanding jurisdiction to alleviate the backlog of cases so families can see relief in this lifetime.

The government must take immediate action to provide comprehensive healthcare benefits, financial compensation, and legal support for those affected. This bill crosses all political and party lines as does this tragic situation.

Please Sign this petition to demand the passing of Bipartisan Bills HR4145 & S907 (Corrections to the Camp Lejeune Justice Act) to provide resolution and justice for all victims of Camp Lejeune's contaminated water. Your support can help bring much-needed relief to families like mine who have suffered tremendously due to this devastating tragedy!

UPDATE 9/27/2024 - Having TWO bills addressing the same issues in tandem, in both the House and the Senate is EXTREMELY beneficial. They're called companion bills and can greatly expedite the hopeful passing and signing into law!

UPDATE 7/22/2025 - New Congress, New Bills. HR4145 & S907
