Petition to: IO Interactive

Summary:
The Disruptor Pack DLC for Hitman: World of Assassination was removed with little notice, leaving many players unable to purchase or access this content. We ask IO Interactive to bring it back in a reworked form.

Why this matters:
The Disruptor Pack launched on June 27, 2024. On November 25, 2024, IO Interactive announced it was ending its collaboration with Conor McGregor and immediately removed the DLC from digital storefronts. This decision came with minimal advance warning, the DLC was never marketed as time-limited content, and the sudden removal gave many players no fair chance to buy it.

Despite the DLC being delisted, its weapons and items were later added to Freelancer mode in a later December update after the content was  removed from digital storefronts. The Disruptor Pack’s weapons and items are now assigned dedicated slots within the player’s headquarters. For players who do not own the now-delisted DLC, these slots remain permanently filled with silhouetted placeholders, constantly highlighting content they have no legitimate way to obtain. This is especially frustrating for completionists, who are left unable to fully complete their collection through any official means. To put it simply, the weapons and items were not included in the popular Freelancer mode until after the DLC pack was pulled from digital storefronts.

We understand that the removal was due to the past legal accusations against Conor McGregor. However, there should be a reasonable compromise:
 • Re-release the mission with a different licensed celebrity, or
 • Replace the target with a fully fictional NPC with no real-world likeness

Either option could allow IO Interactive to resolve legal concerns while restoring access to paid content that was removed too abruptly. Additionally, players who already purchased the Disruptor Pack should be entitled to retain the original mission with Conor McGregor as the target, as they paid for that content prior to its removal

We respectfully ask IO Interactive to bring back a revised Disruptor Pack DLC for purchase.
