When I first learned about Tillsonburg’s T:GO Transit, I was surprised it even existed—many residents still don’t know about it. By then, the Inter-Community line was already gone, leaving few ways to reach nearby towns and students in surrounding communities to get to colleges. T:GO is essential for those without cars, students, and seniors. With better funding, routes, and awareness, it could truly serve the community the way it was meant to.

Residents of Tillsonburg, young and old, rely on T:GO Transit to get to work, attend school, and access essential services. Unfortunately, our current system isn’t meeting these needs. Limited routes restrict mobility, only  shelters leave riders exposed to the elements, and the lack of inter-community options isolates us from neighbouring towns and cities.

This issue extends beyond Tillsonburg. Across Southwestern Ontario, towns that once had T:GO style service—like Port Burwell, Langton, Ingersoll, Dorchester, and others—lost vital transit links due to poor promotion, underfunding, mismanagement, and more. These communities now face even greater isolation, with few affordable or accessible options to travel for work, education, or healthcare besides taxis or driving.

Meanwhile, Middlesex County Connect and other regional systems have shown what’s possible: reliable routes that connect people between London, Woodstock, Ingersoll, St. Thomas, and beyond. Tillsonburg sits at the heart of this region and could once again serve as a key hub—if given the proper support and investment.

Bayham Municipality lost its only transit system, with people from Port Burwell, Straffordville, Edan and Vianna losing a connection to London for college or other. Lambton county wants to create a inter-community transit from Sarnia to Forest, Kettle & Stony Point First Nation, Grand Bend, Bayfield, Dashwood, Exeter, Hensall, Zurich, Huron Park, Parkhill, Ailsa Craig, Goderich, and London.

We are calling on the Town of Tillsonburg, Oxford County, and the Province of Ontario to:

Increase funding for T:GO Transit operations and infrastructure.

Restore inter-community connections to surrounding towns and transit networks.

Expand service hours and routes to meet real community needs.

Improve accessibility and passenger safety through better shelters and stops.

Promote T:GO effectively so residents know this service exists and can rely on it.

Public transit is not a luxury—it’s a lifeline. Rebuilding and expanding T:GO would strengthen our regional economy, reduce isolation, and provide fair, sustainable mobility for everyone in Southwestern Ontario.

This isn’t just a fight for one town—it’s a call for a connected future. Let’s stand together and demand better transit for all. Sign this petition to bring T:GO back, stronger than ever.
