Revoke Professor Klein's suspension

The Issue

Professor Klein of UCLA Anderson School of Management has been suspended from his position (and is at the risk of being fired) merely because he did not accommodate a non black student's request for special grading privileges exclusive for black students.   Mobs have threatened his life and he is currently under police protection

When a black student reached out to Prof. Gordon Klein requesting special privileges in the upcoming final exam, the professor did not refuse the ridiculous request but merely asked the student for suggestions on accommodating this request in a  way that would be fair to everyone.

You can see Prof Kleins email, trying to be accommodative and even asking for suggestions on identifying black students in an online only class.

Yet, the mere thought of the slightest dissent from  a vocal proponent of the Black Lives Matter movement was unacceptable to many.

UCLA Anderson School management has bowed down their heads to cyber mobs and has suspended the professor --who has a pristine record -- merely for trying to be fair to everyone.

We cannot fight against racism if we continue to divide ourselves on racial grounds.  Not only would have granting special privileges based on race been unfair, it would have also been illegal. And would have almost certainly led to further racial unrest.

How far have we drifted from MLK's dream of not judging people by the color of their skin?

Black Lives Matter to all of us, but trying to fight racism with more racism sets a dangerous precedent.

It is important we take a strong stand against Prof. Klein's unfair and illegal suspension.  I request  you to sign this petition and reach out to UCLA Anderson management, Antonio Bernardo, and Sanjay Sood.
