The Austari-Jökulsá is under threat of being dammed. The Austari-Jökulsá is a free flowing river in northwest Iceland. Iceland already produces more energy than it needs. If the dam projects go ahead a very diverse and fragile eco-system will be completely destroyed. This river brings life, income, awareness and education to Skagafjörður and the rest of Iceland.
