As someone deeply concerned about the rise of racism in our society, I am alarmed by the recent race riots taking place across the UK. The government and police have been worryingly docile in response to these instances of widespread disruption, failing to impose necessary public order restrictions.

Despite this, actions from local leaders, national government and the police have been inadequate. An open enquiry into this lack of proactive management is a crucial step towards understanding, accountability, and future prevention. Our leaders must not shirk their duty in ensuring public order and maintaining social peace. We cannot stand by and watch our communities fall victim to an escalating cycle of violence.
