The Issue

On February 2, 2015, Jonathan Hazelwood was found guilty of voyeurism. He inappropriately took photos of a 13-year-old girl bent over at a JCPenney, a fact he admitted by saying he took one picture "because he was being a dumbass." This matters because his wife, Brandi Hazelwood, serves as the principal of Linden Elementary School. Jonathan Hazelwood has been seen multiple times at the school, Given his admitted history of inappropriate behavior towards minors, this association with an educational institution is deeply concerning.

It is our duty to ensure that our children are in a safe environment, free from any potential dangers. A principal should be someone who represents safety and trust, qualities called into question by the presence of Jonathan Hazelwood at Linden Elementary School. Parents, teachers, and community members deserve transparency about who is allowed on school premises and any potential risks involved.

Furthermore, the lack of any formal restrictions on his access to the school raises serious concerns. While legal technicalities might not categorize him as a sex offender, his past actions demonstrate a clear lapse in judgment that is dangerous when associated with a school setting. We cannot ignore the potential threat that repeats itself through his presence.

The school district needs to act to maintain the trust and safety of our children. They must ensure that Jonathan Hazelwood is barred from entering or associating with the school in any capacity. More importantly, the leadership and decision-making capacities of Brandi Hazelwood must be evaluated. A leader in an educational setting must prioritize the well-being and protection of the students above all else.

We urge the relevant authorities to take action to not only investigate this matter thoroughly but also to take the necessary steps to remove Brandi Hazelwood from her position if her association with these events poses a threat to the safety and integrity of the school.

Please show your support for the safety and security of our children by signing this petition. Together, we can ensure a safe and nurturing environment for the students at Linden Elementary School.
