3 years ago Wattpad was a great place to start reading and writing, all the things you needed were there. It was a very open community with more communities within it, it wasn't hard to find your grounding.

I don't know when but I know for sure it's gotten to the point where even on your own book you're hit with ads, ads everywhere. No, you don't get paid for them either.

When you write a story on Wattpad, no matter if you have zero reads, no matter how many followers you have. Every 10 minutes you're hit with an ad, depending on how long the is chapter or how fast of a reader you are that's an ad every chapter.

You're not paid for it as the writer of the story, and Wattpad from what I can see just pockets the money. They were skippable but not anymore.

Before the ads the only thing in between you and the next chapter were recommended, similar books.

I would very much appreciate it if you could sign this petition, this petition is for Wattpad to pay creators for the ads they put on their stories without permission. This is a petition to get Wattpad to have a system much like YouTube's. You get a certain number of followers? You can have ads on your stories. You can choose what stories have ads and you get paid for said ads.

They can't make the number of followers or the pay unreasonable either. Honestly it's gotten out of hand and it needs to be put to a stop. The system would be much better than 'paid to read' stories. They're using the money to add features that are just unnecessary, it's like they're not even listening to us.
