PROTECT YOUR HOME FROM BEING REZONED! OPPOSE MONTGOMERY COUNTY'S INITIATIVE
The Issue
We, the residents of the Naples and Stonegate Subdivisions, find ourselves in the crosshairs of an issue that directly and negatively impacts our community. Montgomery County's Park and Planning Board's proposed Attainable Housing Initiative threatens to dramatically alter the character of our neighborhood. It puts at risk our property values, introduces more traffic, and imposes school overcrowding. We love our community, but these proposed changes are not in our best interest.
The proposed measures, currently under consideration, are expected to increase the density of housing significantly within our neighborhood. This is our home, where we have cultivated a strong and cohesive community, and the changes proposed would irreversibly alter the nature of this space we hold dear. The added traffic congestion from increased residents could also pose safety risks and decrease the quality of life for current residents.
Keeping in mind the need for increased housing opportunities, it is important to consider that drastically changing established neighborhoods might not be the best solution. We believe more balanced approaches that honor existing communities while making room for new residents should be pursued instead.
We're not against growth or development. We fully understand and appreciate Montgomery County’s vision of creating a community that is accessible to all. However, we believe that it should not come at the expense of the established residents. We view our community as a cohesive entity which should be preserved and protected.
For those reasons, and for the love we have for our community, we ask your support to oppose the Attainable Housing Initiative. By signing this petition, you are standing with us, the residents of Naples Subdivision, in preserving the character and livability of our neighborhood. Sign this petition and let Montgomery County's Park and Planning Board know that the character of Naples and Stonegate needs to be preserved for the current and future occupants. Your signature matters.
