Get Iowa Legislators to Reintroduce Bills for Mental Health Care

The Issue

Did you know that Iowa is ranked the last in the nation for mental health care? Many people in Iowa struggle with severe mental illness and have nowhere to go to get inpatient care because there is a severe shortage of staffed beds for mental health care.  Inpatient care is when someone needs care 24/7 in a hospital or similar setting. We want the government of Iowa to look into two bills that have been introduced but ignored afterwards. These bills are House Study Bill 530 and House Study Bill 532. House Study Bill 530 is going to help people who need inpatient care for psychiatric reasons to afford expensive treatments. House Study Bill 532 is going to get more staffed beds in hospitals and care units for mental health purposes.

By signing this petition you are helping us to raise attention and awareness for this severe issue in mental health care that many Iowans face. We hope to get the attention of the Iowa government, so we can help make a long-term solution for this problem.
