Fight for Justice: Support Union Shop Steward Return

The Issue

Union Shop Steward and Officer has been out for over a month now  without pay without being given any good reason for his removal from his post at Widener Mass Ave.

He has been a vocal SEIU 32BJ Shop Steward on campus for over a decade, and engaged repeatedly in protected, concerted activities to try and protect good guards and their families from discrimination and retaliation on Harvard's Campus. as Securitas-Harvard continues to fill its ranks with friends and family, and turnover on campus is reaching all time highs.

Tenured officers are being hunted for profit and replaced with those making $2+/hr less, in order to increase profitability for Securitas, who bills Harvard the same rate regardless of the guards' experience and tenure on site, often at a considerable markup for weekends, nights, and 'special details'. Guards at Harvard University still make less than MIT, and BU officers, who work at University's with a fraction of the funding/endowment.

You can read all about it in the Crimson.

Most recently, he spoke out about the cuts to guards' breaks at the FAS College Libraries, a departure from established past practice. When he asked a few of his coworkers about starting a petition to oppose the changes again recently, one of them ran back to the boss, and he was removed the same week.

Please support  in his fight to return to campus and his post.
