HeartSafe, the company that supplies defibrillators (AEDs) in the UK, have a GPS system which allows anyone with access to the Internet to find their closest defibrillator in an emergency.

HeartSafe says: "There may be many hundreds of non-registered defibrillators." They have no way of knowing. This is why it needs to be made mandatory.

However, it is not a requirement for a person to register that they have one.

We need to make this mandatory.

Using a defibrillator with combined CPR increases the survival rate by as much as 70%, but without effective CPR and AED use, their survival rate drops to 5% (official statistics).

It is crucial all AEDs are made available 24/7 and registered on the GPS.

This is coming from something that happened to someone close to me recently, who may have had a significantly higher chance of survival.
