SCANDAL IN ROCKDALE COUNTY,  GA

This petition has been created by loved ones on behalf of Travis Rabon who is currently an inmate at a State prison in Georgia. In 2012 he was falsely accused of murder and rape with no DNA in the rape kit although there was DNA present from two other men that were never identified. The corruption surrounding his case involves the same Georgia Rockdale County in which justice is being sought for the family of Shali Tilson where a grand jury blames Rockdale County Jail for his death in 2018 and a wrongful death suit has been filed on their behalf (may he rest in peace).

Travis Rabon was caught up in false accusations after a botched robbery attempt by a couple of casual female acquaintances who asked if they could stop by to speak about the possibly of borrowing money to avoid eviction. He saw no reason for concern because he'd previously gone to high school with one of them. After arriving to his gated community, he provided the women with ideas to make money on their own. They left empty handed and unsatisfied. They returned within a few moments asking to use his restroom, at which time they attempted to seduce him for the money. When that failed, they both attempted to rob him after acquiring my firearm that he used in his profession as a security guard. One of the assailants held the gun to the back of his head and pulled to trigger in an attempt to murder him, but to no avail. He'd ejected the bullet from the chamber previously upon entering his home as he'd always done to prevent accidents. He had to use quick thinking to defend himself and preserve his life. That night he was falsely charged with heinous crimes and eventually convicted, based off of a false witness statement from one of the perpetrators that attempted to take his life for money, with no corroborating DNA evidence!

The DNA of his that was found was from the altercation that erupted the second time the perpetrators came back to his home to rob him and was "non-sperm cell" according to  the G.B.I. agent's testimony. However, HIS DNA was NOT FOUND in the rape kit! Also, the G.B.I agent's testimony was that evidence was unsealed and not initialed when received from the Rockdale .Co sheriff's agency but sealed and initialed by laboratory personnel to meet accreditation standards. In addition, the G.B.I agent testified to never being asked to test items that were falsely presented to the jury as a part of the crime scene attributed to the false murder charge. There was a pillow with his blood on it from an unrelated injury that previously occurred and had it been tested it would have revealed that it was his blood and not the deceased. This is just one example of the misleading of the jury that took place during his entire trial.

The circumstances surrounding his conviction reflect the massive amount of fraud and corruption present in Rockdale County in both past and present times. Tracy Radford was the deputy who interrogated  Mr.Rabon and Grote Levett was the deputy who searched his residence with a search warrant that shows that the return of service affidavit was done at 2:30 p.m. but the search warrant was issued at 3:10 p.m. The crime scene was not properly secured, evidence was moved, money was missing from his residence and the EMS was not immediately notified as to who all was in the residence or that anyone may be hurt, which later resulted in an accidental loss of life and the fore mentioned murder charge. Just two years after Mr. Rabon's wrongful conviction, there was a cheating scandal in Rockdale County that resulted in sheriff Eric Levett firing two deputies and demoting five more. This cheating scandal brought into question the credibility of these officers and their testimonies in criminal cases. Two of the deputies that were demoted were Tracy Radford and Grote Levett.

Mr. Rabon was previously representing himself before the Georgia Supreme Court as Pro Se. On January 27, 2020, the Georgia Supreme Court decided to DENY his application for certificate of probable cause to appeal the denial of habeas corpus. This is even after reviewing the GBI report which lacks the necessary DNA evidence! They provided no comments or opinion of their reasoning. Mr. Rabon has also initiated a civil suit against attorney Michael Scott Waldrop for misrepresentation, breach of legal duty and fraud. Michael Waldrop allowed a wrongful conviction to stand after receiving $90,000 from my family, in conflict of interest and fraud, considering Waldrop worked as the City of Conyers Municipal Court Solicitor and represented the city of Conyers for Rockdale County as a City attorney from 2000 to 2018 while defending Mr. Rabon in this criminal case against the same Rockdale county. Waldrop coached him to leave out crucial information about the night in question and told me to conform to the prosecutor's description of events that night. Waldrop promised to have the crime scene recreated and get additional evidence tested. Instead, Waldrop hired a psychologist to state that Mr. Rabon was mentally retarded. Also, the G.B.I or Georgia Bureau Investigations' report shows NO DNA from Mr. Rabon and the evidence was unsealed creating a terribly unkempt chain of custody and willful disregard for the law and integrity of the process.

In his own words Mr. Rabon conveys, "I promised my mother before she died that I would fight until the truth was revealed. This is why I never gave up and fought to prove my innocence which has taken 10 years to do so. Now I need help to represent this case which I have investigated on my own with God's help to secure my exoneration and get me home to my family. My mom passed away due to my incarceration and I have an elderly father who is 82 years old and his health is rapidly declining! He has put every penny into this case to prove his son's innocence and he and my family are financially drained. Please help justice prevail!
Without God, my fiancee, my kids, my father, my Aunt Minnie, and family I could not have made it this far! NEVER GIVE UP!!! God bless you and thank you so much for reading my story!"
" Any story sounds true until someone tells the other side and sets the record straight." Amen!- Proverbs 18 :17
