Wrongfully Convicted & Unjustly Imprisoned: Shannon Needs YOUR Help! Please Sign ❤️

The Issue

Shannon has been wrongfully convicted of second-degree murder, despite the overwhelming and undeniable fact that she was forced to act in self-defense. She had no other choice. She was fighting for her life. Instead of protecting her, the system turned on her, punishing a survivor while painting her attacker, a previously convicted and proven danger to women, children, and society, as a victim.

Her case is a devastating example of how deeply flawed our criminal justice system is, especially for those without the privilege or resources to defend themselves. Justice should not be reserved for the wealthy or the well-connected. Yet, time and time again, we see how gender, class, and bias dictate who walks free and who is thrown behind bars.

Shannon’s story is not unique. According to the National Registry of Exonerations, 54% of exonerations in 2020 were due to official misconduct. That means countless innocent people, like Shannon, are trapped in a system that values convictions over truth. Her children are growing up without their mother because of a system that criminalizes survival.

Shannon’s case was plagued with violations of her constitutional rights. From the moment she called 911 to report the attack, the system immediately treated her as a suspect. Police denied her legal counsel, pressured witnesses into false statements, and had critical evidence withheld during her trial. Rather than focusing on her attacker’s violent history, the jury was denied the full picture, and Shannon was convicted of a crime she never committed.

We refuse to accept this injustice. We demand that Shannon’s case be reevaluated, that the truth be acknowledged, and that the system be held accountable for its failures. With enough signatures and public pressure, we can bring her story to light and fight for a justice system that protects, rather than punishes, survivors.
