CAN YOU PLEASE  SIGN THE SAME PETITION ON THE GOVERNMENT WEBSITE AS THIS ONE IS NOT ACCEPTED BY THEM. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/712848    As a parent of a non verbal autistic son and along with countless others, I have fallen victim to ill-judged decisions made by Local Authorities (LAs). These decisions greatly impact the health and wellbeing of our beloved children and without the financial ability to resort to courts or legal aid, our only recourse is to the Local Government Ombudsman (LGO). Yet, the LGO is understaffed and can only investigate certain areas. Even when a Council is found to be at fault, there's no legal requirement for them to follow the recommended changes.

Similarly, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) can merely request LAs to perform self-investigation, which brings little or no change at all. This condition is unacceptable and places our vulnerable citizens and their carers at risk. We demand the establishment of an Independent Complaints Commission for Social care services that covers Local authority, Health, and Education sectors. This body must be empowered to hold LAs accountable and ensure they are operating effectively, ethically, and transparently.

A proactive step by our government to establish this much-needed commission can help ensure that any complaints or discontent concerning social care are thoroughly investigated and necessary actions are taken promptly. The commission could be could have individual departments each one responsible for  Social Care Adults, Social Care Children, Education & Health. With investigators who are specialised in their own area. This is not just a personal plea but a resonant outcry echoed by many who are suffering under the current system. Please sign this petition to demand the establishment of an Independent Complaints Commission for Social care services. Let's make our voices heard and protect lives of carers and disabled individuals like my son.
