End the Blockade of Gaza and the Occupation of the West Bank to Prevent COVID-19 Tragedy
The Issue
Why is this important?
The apartheid regime of Israel has implemented movement restrictions on the Gaza Strip since the 1990s, the devastating violation of human rights has peaked in 2007 when Israel, alongside Egypt have imposed the land, air, and sea blockade on Gaza. What the blockade has done to more than 1 million and 800 thousand people is excruciating!
With a devastating economy threatened by the daily malevolent policies of Israel, and with a scarce to no access to enough food and health facilities, Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank are the most vulnerable to coronavirus contamination.
The discrimination is not limited to the population under the siege, the Arab municipalities in Israel make up 20 percent of the population but are yet treated lesser than the Jewish citizen. The Regional Committee of the Arab Municipalities have voiced their concern over the coronavirus crisis and threatened to go on strike if Israel continues its bigoted conducts.
What can be done?
To take action we the undersigned, request the United Nations and its branches to take necessary measures against the inhumane and burgeoning breaches of international law and human rights law on the part of Israel against the State of Palestine and the Arab municipalities in Israel.
