We have churches operating or involved with so-called conversion "therapy" practices where Christian homophobes attempt to change the sexual orientation of an individual in the City of Dallas and in Dallas County. 

Credible health professionals point out that it is not possible and injurious to the mental health of the victim. 

So-called conversion "therapy" is an exterminating effort to annihilate homosexuality driven by religious bigotry. 

It is the crushing of individuality to fit a totalitarian mold of what humanity should be. 

We ask that the City of Dallas and Dallas County each adopt the following. 

[1] Prohibit the practice of so-called conversion therapy and make it a criminal offense to do so.

[2] Make it a criminal offense to aid or facilitate the practice of so-called conversion therapy. 

[3] Make it a criminal offense to transport a person to perform so-called conversion therapy. 

[4] Make it a criminal offense to transport a person to be the object of so-called conversion therapy. 

[5] Prohibit public funds from being used for so-called conversion therapy. 

[6] Prohibit any public funds or aid from going to any entity promoting or facilitating or conducting or engaged in so-called conversion therapy. 

[7] Prohibit anyone who is a member of an organization involved with aiding, promoting, or conducting so-caled conversion therapy from serving on any board, commission or other appointed position in our local government. 

[8] Allow victims of this so-called conversion therapy to sue for damages. 

[9] Create a Human Rights Commission which will have among its duties investigating so-called conversion therapy and advise. 

The practice of so-called conversion therapy is condemned by leading professional societies. Its terrible impact is reported on in news tories.

This horrible practice needs to stop and the City of Dallas and Dallas County take real steps to stop it.
