While Boris is washing his hands and singing happy birthday this country and the rest of the world is panicking, people are dying and yet nobody is talking about a solution which is already available which could have a massive impact and even win this war on the coronavirus.

Carrageenan (lota-carrageenan and Kappa-carrageenan) is a sulphated galactose polymer derived from Rhodophyceae seaweed. (Carrageenan is often Trademarked as Carragelose).

It has been clinically proven to be broadly active against respiratory viruses including human coronavirus.

There are several products already available which contain carrageenan, for example;
Boots Dual Defence (surprisingly out of stock and they will not be receiving any more?),
Betadine Cold Defence nasal spray,
Rhinobronc Viral nasal spray.
There are also other products available that don't use Carrageenan, they use an alternative ingredient to coat the virus and a pH modifier to make the environment less welcoming for the virus, Vicks First Defence and Humer Stop Virus. 

All these products work in a very similar way by trapping and removing viruses from the nasal cavity, however, the last two can be a little unpleasant to use as the pH modifier can cause smarting/sinus pain.

I have used these products for a few years and in that time only had one cold which was very mild and only lasted a couple of days with few symptoms.

The very nature of how the solution works would also significantly reduce the spreading of the virus.

We can win this war if the government's around the world treat it as such and use the best weapons available.

Commandeer the companies that make or can make this product and supply it free of charge to everyone, starting with the most vulnerable.

This would not only alleviate suffering and save lives but also money, the main thing the government seems to be worried about.

I want to make this public knowledge and urge our government and government's around the world to take advantage of this gift that nature has provided.

At very least talk about it as a potentially viable option while the scientists try to catch up with a virus which will more than likely keep one step ahead and mutate before they get there.
