After 28 years Clive Tyldesley is set to leave ITV. His final commentary for the broadcaster was Saturday night's Euro 2024 last-16 tie between Germany and Denmark.

For many, myself included, Clive was the voice of football growing up. When I think of unforgettable Champions League moments like Man Utd beating Bayern Munich to complete the treble or the Miracle of Istanbul, his voice is indelibly linked.

Whilst I understand ITV's desire to promote other talent, it feels disrespectful that the last time we heard him on the channel was for a mere first knockout stage match rather than the conclusion of the tournament.

After giving fans nearly three decades of iconic commentary, the best send-off would be for Clive Tyldesley and Ally McCoist to voice ITV's coverage of the European Championship final, let's make it happen!
