Living in Crystal Valley Ranch, specifically the Homestead by Cliffrose, has been both a joy and a challenge. One of the recurring issues we face here is the strong gusts of wind that blow our trashcans over, scattering garbage across our streets and, eventually, making their way into Castle Rock's beautiful waterways. It poses significant environmental hazards as well, contaminating our local water sources and harming wildlife. As well as looking gross in your yard.

As a resident deeply invested in the well-being and beauty of our area, I regularly pick up litter on my block after a windstorm blows through. Unfortunately, despite these efforts, I can't tackle this issue alone when everyone’s trashcans topple over, contributing to the escalating problem of litter pollution.

My solution is straightforward: implement secure trash bins with locking lids or weighted bases to withstand the windy conditions common in our town. Securing trash really means safeguarding our environmental heritage for future generations, preserving the natural charm that makes Castle Rock such a wonderful place to live.

 With enough support, we can urge local authorities and waste management services to introduce stronger, wind-resistant trash bins, ensuring our trash stays contained, thereby protecting our streets and waterways. This initiative would create a tangible change in reducing waste pollution, aligning with our shared goal of maintaining Castle Rock's stunning natural environment.
