The Issue

We, the students and supporters signing this petition, respectfully request the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to consider providing 15 grace marks or implementing fair moderation measures for affected students due to concerns regarding blurred examination materials, unclear answer sheet scans, and evaluation-related issues.

Board examinations play a major role in determining students’ academic futures, college admissions, scholarships, and career opportunities. Students spend years preparing for these examinations with dedication and hard work. However, many students faced unexpected difficulties during and after the examinations because of unclear printed materials and blurred scanned answer sheets.

Several students reported that some examination content appeared unclear or difficult to read, which caused confusion and wasted valuable examination time. During high-pressure exams where every minute matters, even small visibility issues can significantly affect student performance. Many students experienced stress and anxiety while attempting to interpret unclear text instead of focusing fully on answering questions.

In addition, concerns have been raised regarding the quality and clarity of scanned answer sheets shown during verification and re-evaluation processes. Students deserve transparency and confidence that their answers are being assessed fairly and accurately.

These issues were beyond the control of students. No student should face academic disadvantage because of technical, printing, or scanning-related problems. Even well-prepared students may have lost marks due to these circumstances.

Therefore, we respectfully request CBSE to:

1. Provide 15 grace marks to affected students, OR
2. Adopt a lenient and compassionate evaluation policy, OR
3. Introduce fair moderation measures to ensure students are not unfairly penalized.

This request is not for special treatment, but for fairness, equality, and student welfare. Similar moderation policies have been considered in academic situations in the past to maintain justice for students affected by circumstances beyond their control.

We sincerely urge the Central Board of Secondary Education to listen to student concerns and take supportive action in the interest of fairness and academic justice.

Thank you.
