KEVIN’S PETITION

Hi, my name is Kevin Taylor.
Please, I need help to bring my two beautiful daughters home to the UK from the Philippines.

When I met their mother, Charlene, she had already been married but her husband had deserted her and their children for another woman. I took on the responsibility of looking after Charlene and her children and, together, we had two delightful daughters, Charlene Jnr., born 2006 and Charlotte, born 2008.
We were enjoying a wonderful life together until, in 2009, tragedy struck and, out of the blue, I was unjustly thrown into a hellhole prison for a crime I did not commit.
The Foreign Office, British Embassy and local media were well aware of my circumstances and did much to help, for which I will be eternally grateful.
After 10 desperate years of Appeals, I was finally released but then cruelly deported back here to the UK.
Trouble is … I am not allowed back into the Philippines to be with my family.

Worse than that, Charlene is not able to join me here in the UK. She has added burdens of tragic family issues which have badly affected her. Her father has recently been lost at sea with his ship and despairing searches are ongoing. The stress and trauma has caused Charlene great difficulty in looking after my two daughters.
Feeling unloved and unwanted, they themselves are desperate to be back with me, their rightful father.
Regarded as children of a ‘foreigner’, they are subject to bullying and abuse and need proper schooling which they cannot get in the Philippines.
As for myself, my unjust incarceration prevented me from being a proper father to them for these last 10 years.
I now dearly wish to have them with me in the UK where I can give them the life, love and attention they deserve.

I hoped to be able to obtain UK Passports for them but have just been told that these have been denied!
Unfortunately, because there is no Law of Divorce in the Philippines, the inhuman situation is that Charlene’s runaway husband is considered ‘legally’ the father of my two daughters.
Therefore, so far as the UK Passport Office is concerned, technically, I am not the father of my two daughters.
On this basis they are not entitled to British Citizenship!
The fact that my name is on their Birth Certificates means nothing to them.

What I am asking is for my girls to be allowed their UK Passports, or some alternative documentation, so they can come here to be with me in the UK.
There are obvious extenuating circumstances to this situation and natural justice should prevail!
Is it too much to ask that a father and his two adoring daughters be allowed to be together?
These two young ladies are very intelligent … Charlene 14yo wants to be a chef and have her own business and Charlotte 12yo wants to work for NASA as her interest is astronomy. They would both soon become very valuable members of the UK Community … Assets to our society!
