Birkenstock made the most wonderful shoes called Messina. They were a sandal and a shoe in one. You could wear them outside in the summer and because they had an ankle strap not worry about losing one or slipping out of it. You could wear them to work because of the closed toe. They were perfect; light and airy.  I had several in multiple colors. Then tragically I lost them all in a wildfire. I lost all my Keens, Timberlands and UGGs but the Birkenstock Messinas are the ones I miss the most. Even more tragic is the fact that they are discontinued. I have searched and scoured every avenue to find them, but all I can find are the ones so tiny, only children can wear them, and they have their own “Mary Janes”. 

Everywhere I look there are comments of how much people love this style.
