As someone who was coerced into a relationship with an adult at just 12 years old, this behavior sickens me. I hope the survivor and his family are doing well and that they can get the help they need. Our justice system has failed so many children who have suffered evil, heinous acts at the hands of adults. Let's sign this petition to make sure every single monster is held accountable!

There is NOTHING else left for kids around this area, such a shame! I have also loved going to the ice rink and re-learning how to skate every time I come back skating. I just can’t imagine Harrington without an ice skating rink.

And then to add on the limiting of family friendly events and activities for the community is more depressing. The ice rink is a safe space for many adults and children that are looking for connection, to grow in a healthy environment, to have the support by a team, and to have a physical release while having fun. It’s a meditation space for athletes and performers. It’s a place where traditions continue to bring community together. The ice rink has been a place where we can relive our childhood as adults & play. It’s a place people look forward to escape to, and then score goals. It’s a place where people learn they have support if they have a rough practice or don’t have the best skate session. It’s a controlled environment that no matter the weather, during the season, there’s a place to get warm, and enjoy the sound of ice slicing. We aren’t ready for the bleachers to be silent. We want to continue to fill the centre and cheer against the glass for our loved ones on the ice. A place for graceful movements and moments of a nail biter. Please hear us, our families, and our children, don’t melt the ice!

He fell in love with ice hockey, but it’s not just about hockey. We have developed so many friendships in the last year. It has been a blessing to have this as an option so close to home.
So many wonderful families are going to either commit to hour long drives to another ice rink or quit the sport they love. Not only that, but this will be a major hit to the community as more and more recreational options disappear for our youth.
To add, there has been a lot of effort to develop all programs offered at the ice rink. I have personally watched the massive growth happen from 2023 to now. It is impressive to see the sweat and tears put into the ice rink by people who truly cared about our youth and the sport. The rink is now packed and more and more families are showing up and finding out how wonderful the rink administration is. That effort by the rink administration needs to be recognized!!!!

The youth of Southern Delaware would be at a great disadvantage without it as they have no other alternative for ice related sports within75 miles of most. To say this is unfortunate is an understatement. Our children and grandchildren will be very disappointed if this happens as they really enjoy the game of ice hockey and are so upset at the possibility of losing their home rink. Winter activities are limited here on the Delaware shore area and this facility provides to much for so many . I repeat, please reconsider this very poor choice in that it will adversely impact so very many people.

Closing this barn in southern Delware sends the message that we really don't care very much about these most important character-building activities in our youth while at the same turning our backs on the most deserving group in our society: our men and women in the armed services.
