RTO full time is the worst decision. the traffic, parking, personal safety, air quality, horrible will make more difficult on us the state employees. How you want me to be full productive and I spend 1 hour stuck on roads while I’m 20 minutes away from work, you see frustration, with in office people don’t even say good morning. We have technology that make us to 100% Remote work from home. I saw myself more productive when I’m teleworking. Remote work saves our roads, air, and health. Let us be 100% TELEWORK!

Forcing state employees back to the office disproportionately harms working parents, especially women, who rely on flexible schedules to balance work and caregiving. It will also drive away top talent, leading to inefficiencies and knowledge loss in critical departments. Sacramento already struggles with severe traffic congestion and some of the worst air quality in the nation—this mandate will only make it worse. Remote and hybrid work have proven successful; there is no clear justification for this policy. The state should be leading in flexibility and sustainability, not moving backward.

Teleworking saves me hundreds of dollars a month in related expenses, and over 40 hours a week in commuting time. Considering the meager pay we state employees receive, forcing us back into the office after EVERYTHING costs way more than it did prior to teleworking amounts to a large pay cut.

I'm signing this because I have disabled family members who are still WFH, and they are risking injury to go in because the place they work at, doesn't have work accomodations in place to help with the existing disability. You are going to amplify caretaker burnout in all Californian citizens, by forcing disabled people back to office. This affects childcare as well. I personally am a caretaker for disabled children, so this affects my entire family in a very negative way. I had to sacrifice a career in order to be a caretaker for them. So just really sit and think about this. Unless you have a solution for medical, this would hurt us more.

I care about this issue because the impact of all employees returning to the office simultaneously is negative for both state and non-state workers alike. Between excess traffic, emissions, psychological distress, and work-life balance, we should be open minded enough to see the obvious detriments that the executive order sets in motion. We have seen a proven model showing that telework is not only possible, but overall the better option.

Forcing state workers back to the office causes unnecessary financial hardship on an already struggling working class. Parking downtown is expensive and hard to find. Public transportation is not clean and I feel unsafe. The excess commute time is unnecessary when I can get my work done from home. Remote work has proven successful and there is no reason to go backwards in this decision.

The RTO is nothing but political. So many agencies don’t have equipment, space, parking etc. Productively will greatly reduce and morale will decrease as well. You essentially forced us home 5 years ago and said “telework was the future” and now, going back doesn’t make sense. You’re using us as pawns to revitalize downtown but fail to address the real issues that plague that area! It’s not the lack of state employees, it’s the unhoused people that have taken over. People don’t want to spend money where it’s not safe. I’m safer at home, producing more work and able to WFH when I’m sick. Illnesses are going to increase and then we’ll be burning up our time. None of this makes sense

My name is Lamar Long and I been at Material in Motion for 18months. I just bought my very 1st house and I have a 3yr old daughter to support. I was able to support her day care but now I have NO INCOME to pay for my bills as well as her day care and other expenses. Material in motion did not notify the employees in the proper time of 60 days to give people ample time to look/apply for new positions elsewhere. They did the total opposite and told the employees that we will be laid off 2 days before Christmas. Some employees were blindsided and told to leave 5 days before Christmas when we were told our last day would be on the 23rd of December. I also was promoted from Maintenance Tech1 postion to Maintenance Tech 3 postion and never received extra pay for moving up in a new postion. There was times were we came to work and they wouldn't pay us. For example. We came to work on the night of a hurricane. Clock in and clock out like we were told and we're never compensated for it making people check short when it was a Natural Disaster at the End of Sept. This is not right and needs to be looked into. There was No explanation to why we were laid off. There was No severance pay and Insurance was cut off for employees. This needs to be Highly Investigated.
