I was a sponsor for Samson and Nan for 7 years, and used to visit these lovely animals every week. They are fed very well and hard working volunteers are keeping their rooms clean. They are happy beings at Kirshner’s. Please let them come home.

In regards to the recent allegations surrounding the Barry R. Kirshner wildlife sanctuary I can attest to the exceptional care and commitment they show towards their animals. It is important to acknowledge that all the allegations mentioned in recent articles are just that-allegations. Having spent 5 days a week volunteering at the sanctuary for nearly the past year I can attest to the exceptional care and commitment they show towards their animals. Having witnessed their operations first hand, I can confirm that the sanctuary staff consistently maintain a high standard of care. They clean every animals cage everyday, disinfect food and water bowls everyday, and ensure that each animal receives appropriate nutrition and fresh water everyday. I think it’s also important to acknowledge that this is a sanctuary not a zoo, meaning many of the animals were taken by Kirshners due to disabilities or injuries because other facilities were unable or unwilling to provide the necessary care they required. Without the sanctuary’s intervention many of the animals would have faced euthanasia. The team and Kirshners goes above and beyond, offering limitless time, love, and care to give these animals a chance at a fulfilling life. The sanctuaries efforts have allowed numerous animals to live that otherwise may not have survived. Their commitment and dedication are truly commendable and I urge everyone to please sign the petition to bring them all back home.
I visited the sanctuary with my family after being invited by a foundation volunteer some years ago. It appeared to me to be a fantastically run facility with animals that were well cared and loved for. The volunteer that invited me is very diligent and has continually spoken with commitment and care for the animals that have been saved by coming there. I am more educated because of them and have seen their commitment for over the last 10 years to this labor of love.
Butte County has no other place to learn about most of the wild animals that were at Kirschner. Teaching people that all animals have a place in this world even predators is a step forward towards protecting them from extinction. The local predators like the coyote and mountain lions are shot on sight by so many here Learning about them is a chance to change the ridiculous idea that all they do is kill pets, people and livestock
Jessica is a valuable resource in South Georgia. So many people use her services, including the surrounding animal shelters. She obviously cares and loves the animals, otherwise she wouldn't have been doing this for 20 years. I hope that the City of Tifton can work with her and that they listen to the taxpaying citizens that support her.
I’ve lived in tifton. Played in the blue devil brigade which at that time also played an Atlanta falcons halftime show. The abruptness of this ruling throws a red flag for me. I recall tifton as being a small community that cared about each other and put their heart first. What happened?
Steadfast Wildlife has helped my family rehabilitate multiple animals we have found hurt in the wild, including a fawn abandoned by its mother. Jessica is a true Angel doing what she does!
I Have Watched Jessica Help So Many Injured Animals There Not A Animal That Comes Into Care That Goes Unnoticed . When Animals Are Hurt or Sick She Comes To The Rescue For Any Animal Big Or Small She Goes Over Everything That Is Wrong With Them And Comes Up With A Plan To Help Them When The Animals Are Back To Being Healthy Jessica Makes Sure They Are Released In A Safe Place . I Stand Behind Her To Save Her Rescue And These Babies .
I have had to rely on wildlife rehabilitators in my area numerous times. I had a baby opossum that had been attacked by a cat and would not have survived without expert care which thankfully I was able to find. We need skilled, licensed individuals to help the local wildlife.
