Large-scale projects such as the Willow oil project and offshore wind developments on the U.S. East Coast raise concerns about their potential impact on wildlife biodiversity. Critics worry these projects could disrupt marine and coastal ecosystems, harm species habitats, and contribute to environmental degradation. Supporters often emphasize economic benefits and clean energy goals, making the debate complex and multifaceted.

Mining activities such as deep-sea and copper mining can negatively affect various species and their habitats. These operations may lead to habitat destruction, pollution, and disruption of ecological processes, impacting marine and terrestrial wildlife. Communities dependent on these ecosystems and conservation efforts aimed at protecting sensitive areas also face challenges due to mining-related environmental changes.

Disposing of radioactive waste into waterways like the Hudson River raises significant concerns about contamination of aquatic ecosystems. Radioactive materials can harm fish, plants, and other aquatic organisms, potentially leading to health risks for wildlife and humans alike. Such pollution may also degrade water quality and disrupt the overall biodiversity of affected environments.

Activism to ban trophy hunting and conserve forest lands and national preserves stems from efforts to protect vulnerable species and maintain natural habitats. Trophy hunting can threaten populations of certain animals, while drilling and auctioning protected lands may lead to habitat loss and fragmentation. Conservation efforts aim to preserve biodiversity and ensure long-term ecological health.

I have worked along the river corridor spending weeks of my life camped along the Texas/Mexico border through bbnp and bbrp. It is safe and a border wall in unnecessary. Putting a physicql wall in one of the truly last wild places in Texas and the lower 48 would be despicable. Not to mention creating a barrier for the incredible amount of wildlife using the area to migrate.
There is zero risk involved in denying this permit to mine. There are many risks associated environmental contamination involved with approving this permit. Please protect our natural resources.
I live in Spokane where silver mines in Idaho have affected the Spokane River. It has contaminated our fish with an excess amount of mercury, and it has been determined that you can only eat one fish a month out of the river. Stop letting these companies ruin our environment, especially while asking for $50 million of taxpayer money. Reinvest that money in children and schools in low-income communities.
Have we learned nothing? The PFAS debacle is most recent ‘discovery’ Michiganders have had to deal with. STOP MESSING with our water! We have had so many catastrophic human disasters here. PBB in the 70’s. Generations of discharging factories waste into rivers. PFAS/PFOA in our ground water. NO MORE. STOP. Please for all that is Holy to you, stop. Because our fresh water is Holy to all of us.
I live next to a town that had copper mining. Almost a hundred years later and people can't drink the well water. They have to bring in water. Now it's a super fund site that still hasn't been cleaned up because of the cost. It's not worth it
