I have visited this area before and walked through the current construction today.
Unless there is good and unselfish reason to contend against this well established community project they’ve been a unique and value add to Greensboro over a decade. What good reason is there it should not be supported? I doubt there is.

Natural creeks with an intact riparian area around them are beautiful gifts given to our community only once, either we protect them or they are gone forever, like the concrete channels of much of Southern California south of us.

It’s true the past owner let the cemetery fall into disrepair and that it could use some road upgrades, but to allow this to move forward is ridiculous. The land is a cemetery and should be respected as such. Does anyone have any idea of the amount of construction traffic required to fully develop a 20 acre solar farm? Bulldozers, backhoes, cement trucks, equipment deliveries, construction workers. You can forget about having a peaceful setting for your loved ones for well over a year. Solar farms belong in industrial or rural areas, not in a cemetery.

Only .2 tenths of a mile away. We only have an all volunteer fire department with NO fire hydrants in town.

While renewable energy is important, these facilities pose serious risks — including fire hazards, chemical leaks, and environmental damage. Small towns often lack the resources to properly assess, monitor, and respond to the complex challenges these facilities may bring. Clear and enforceable bylaws are necessary to ensure that decisions about land use reflect the interests of the people who live there — not just the profit-driven goals of outside developers.

We came here for a Serenity and peace of the small town environment. The safety of our children and my children's future children. Having the Battery storage in our town would not only disrupt our peace. It will cause harm to our wildlife and reptiles that are on the verge of Extinction. We don't want it here. The people don't want it. Keep our small town beautiful and free from the danger of having battery storage.
