Five years ago, an application for expansion of Robb’s Hill Quarry was withdrawn. Case closed? Not quite! The developers are back, with Steve West apparently acting as spokesman. A preliminary application has been filed with the Union County Planning Department. It is short on details - in fact, there are none. It mainly consists of the PowerPoint deck West is using to fundraise for the project. We can expect a formal application to be filed in the next few months. In a presentation to Perry residents he described various changes intended to make the project more acceptable to them. Most Perryites remain unconvinced.
Five years ago, our community came together, petitioning, attending meetings, writing letters, filing objections, and shot this project down.
