Vaquita

The vaquita topic on Change.org sheds light on the critically endangered vaquita porpoise, found exclusively in the Gulf of California. With less than 10 individuals remaining, the vaquita is on the brink of extinction due to illegal fishing practices using gillnets. Petitions under this topic focus on urging governments to enforce stricter regulations, crack down on illegal fishing activities, and protect the vaquitas habitat. One prominent petition, supported by thousands, calls for a permanent ban on gillnets in the vaquitas habitat to prevent accidental entanglement and needless deaths. Another petition highlights the urgent need for marine conservation efforts to save the vaquita from extinction. Join the fight to save the vaquita by exploring and supporting these petitions. Your actions can help preserve this unique species and ensure a future where the vaquita thrives in its natural environment.
