We’ve had a wonderful experience at Ashford Park Elementary. The staff and leadership have created a welcoming, student-focused environment, and our family has found a true sense of community here. It’s unfortunate that the school has been portrayed otherwise... it doesn’t reflect the care, inclusion, and commitment we’ve seen firsthand. We’re proud to support Ashford Park and the direction it’s headed.
Principal Freeman is an incredible asset to our school and community. WSB should be ashamed of airing that piece without due diligence and accurate information. As a black family we have experienced nothing but support and respect at Ashford Park Elementary School. We stand with Principal Freeman.
As a family actively engaged at Ashford Park, we have experienced an extraordinary level of care, support, and a loving learning environment that has enabled our children to thrive. For the past 4 years, I've taken time to express my appreciation to Mrs. Freeman and her team for their focus and commitment to our community. Our community will continue to stand united in love and I can stand by this to say "The light shines in darkness and the darkness can never extinguish it" (John 1:5)
I was a student of Dr. Freeman’s about 15 years ago now. Each of my younger siblings then followed in my footsteps and have thrived under her care up until today. She is an educator I will steadfastly support due to her kindness and her overwhelmingly positive impact on each and every student she encounters.
Not necessarily convinced this was a murder, but I have been following this case and after looking at all of the evidence (or lack there of) I am convinced that this case was not handled the way that I would hope someone would handle my family member's suspicious death. The family definitely deserves the case to be reopened and a new, thorough investigation should be done by an outside party, including new polygraph tests and supenoaing cell phone records from all witnesses and/or suspects (if they are still able to do that at this point). In my opinion, that is the minimum that should have been done back at the very beginning of this investigation. Good luck to the family. I hope they are able to get some answers.
Although I do not personally know John, I have been following his story for some time now and all I can say is that he was wrongfully convicted and he needs to be free with his family! I have went through a similar experience with a family member and the youngstown court system and it seems they don't like to listen to the facts or seek the truth. Wishing John and his family the best and praying for the best possible outcome!
