We live near the cliffs in Mar Scenic Canyon marked "Do Not Enter -- Unstable Cliffs -- Danger." Yet one of the proposed routes would bore a tunnel underneath that land. The most logical solution is to take the train off the coast at Camp Pendelton, then run it South on I-5 from there. It will (a) avoid transport of hazardous chemicals below residential areas, (b) prevent the taking of residences in our communities, and (c) preserve the character and operation of our coastal towns and local businesses. It’s a massive amount of money for a senior on a fixed income. I can’t afford higher taxes.
