As somebody who struggles with mental health issues, the concept of a police officer refusing to try to understand when somebody is going through something is utterly terrifying, especially when taking into account how stigmatized certain disorders are.
Allowing to fire without reason allows to fire without reason. One can quit without reason as well. Legally. That’s it. What is one major reason people don’t quit? Income. The employee at will is at the mercy of the employer, to sustain their life. With income. An employer can legally fire someone they simply don’t like. Just don’t give the reason. We have all seen employees abuse this whether personal, witnessed, or third party such as gossip.
Income is a modern day human essential need. To legally strip one of this, it’s inhumane. Therefore, in violation of the US Constitutional 14th amendment.

Who is protected by this law? The employer.
Will we ever have a rebalance of fairness? Not unless we take action. The laws are broad and intended to be so to apply fairly and honorably. The fact that it has been opposite of that shows what we are largely dealing with. The meek don’t inherit the earth. With hard work, tenacity, and collaboration - the meek claim the earth. Through advocacy, balance, fairness, justice and personal investment over power and greed. It has become so ridiculous it’s almost comical. Our reality is a joke. A criminal can become president and change the world to fit their personal agenda. We can push more petitions for separate matters. It should be time to start one grand petition that covers all. Founding fathers wrote the constitution at the start. Now that we lived through it for centuries, I think our combined experience and history calls for a recall and new issue. Including an addendum of oath and allegiance to the new constitution. On a personal level for all to be accountable. Instead of hopping onto a role one is only accountable for in the role but not as an individual. This is one problem towards why there is so much corruption in government.
Corporations/business leaders are not a suitable alternative. Nor are celebrities. We need an average citizen who actually lived through the days and nights common to the average American. Someone from our team for a change. A worker to protect the workers and all others in this country just barely making it.
