My daughter is a victim of bullying and why she has been in therapy for almost 3 years. Unexcusable!

My high functioning Autistic son endured the same suffering. It is ridiculous that things have not improved. He is still suffering the after-affects.

I endured similar treatment from HCPSS as a student in late nineties and early oughts. That the situation has not improved is unsurprising, but alarming.

Hello my son has autism and epilepsy and this is something he will have the rest of his life.us moms take on a whole different world with our unique kids and we are there safe place. And that safe place is a very big deal .its hard to find people to work with my son because he doesn’t know them and he doesn’t like a lot of people in his space he gets overwhelmed and then his world is upside down .us moms don’t ask for nothing but what is needed for our kids. This would help so many parents to keep there children safe in there safe place and there needs could be met better. I really hope for change and let our kids thrive as they should.

My mother (Samantha smothers) has been taking care of my baby sister (massaria) who is nonverbal autistic with little to no help. My mom was told by several schools and social workers that my little sister is to extreme and that there’s nothing they can do to help. When I lived with them my mom could never do anything for herself or spend time with my other siblings because she constantly had to keep an eye on Massaria. I myself have stepped up to help my mom with Massaria but it seems every time I see her she just gets worse.. my mom is even covered in bruises now because Massaria can’t control herself. I’m absolutely not saying this is all Massarias fault because she doesn’t understand, she can’t express how she’s feeling without screaming or crying. Imagine being in that little girls shoes.. not being able to say “momma I’m hungry” or “momma my stomach hurts” or “momma I’m scared”. That little girl is probably so miserable not being able to find her voice and not being able to express how she’s feeling. Massaria is such a smart and beautiful girl.. She’s just misunderstood..

I can only hope parents who struggle with care for special needs children are helped! My younger brother has Down syndrome so this hits home

Poor judgement by trusted professionals should not lead to a family’s life being turned upside down! We appreciate those that report concerns when they’re appropriate, but disregarding instructions and not using medicine provided is not an excuse. I advocate for these families - especially the Rippetoe-Crabtree family as I have personally experienced them showing nothing but love and care for their children.
Bekka supported: Shield Special Needs Families from Unjust Child Protection Reports
Special needs parents are already stretched to the max with making sure their children's needs are met. Unnecessary reports to child services just add to an already full plate for families.

As an autistic teen, I know that people with autism need to be treated like regular people, not like animals or criminals. We are not animals or criminals just because we have a melt down or a moment, we are just trying to express ourselves, just like how non autistic people need to express themselves too.

Both my brother and sister are autistic. If something like this happened to them I would be outraged. Keep fighting, you're doing the right thing.
