I’m signing because children’s health and nutrition should always be a priority. The Institute of Child Nutrition provides important research and training that helps schools and programs support kids’ well-being. Cutting this would be a huge step backwards. We need to invest in our future—not take away from it.
During my 12 years in Child Nutrition, I have had multiple opportunities to see how important it is to the health and well-being of our children at school. I have watched first-hand how THE ICN has grown and become an absolutely invaluable partner in our goal of making and serving nutritious and healthy meals for our children in school. This organization is extremely important to the schools in so many different aspects, one of which is their training programs that help the school staff at their level, and at no cost to the school, which, with the very low reimbursement rates, is such a valuable resource.
