I had my children to care and nurture them for their individual needs , not to hand over the control of decision making to the government when they are of school age. I feel this is damaging, penalising the children that are in loving homes. Our children aren’t machines and shouldn’t penalise for attendance when sick or struggling. Nor should be celebrated for 100%attendance to make other children feel bad about themselves for being sick.
I am deeply concerned that the bill undermines parental rights and places an excessive administrative burden on families without evidence of widespread issues in the home education community. Parents are best placed to decide what is in the best interests of their children, and the current proposals risk compromising the flexibility and individuality that make home education effective for so many learners.
They are my children and no one wants best for them than I do.
This bill is solely an attack on our parental rights. Using the death of a poor girl that was failed by government services as usual as a front for this bill which is disgraceful. This poor girl was a child IN SCHOOL under social services and failed again and again. This is nothing to do with the safety of children because the government are not safe for children. This is about control. Schools are also not safe spaces for a majority of children and if they are not thriving they are not receiving an education. If the government can’t protect the children already in school and being reported how is this bill going to help? It is not nor do they care for their safety or they would sort out the failing schools and government organisations before ever proposing to infringe on our rights! There are thousands of children out of school waiting for school places and the government are doing nothing to source these children places so why are they again overstepping into parental rights and responsibility?
They also didn’t care about them during lockdown it’s only when it coincides with an agenda that it is manipulated to seem like you are trying to help.
There are some very concerning points to this bill.
Dom (Yungblud) changed my life, he helped me along my art journey to feel safe in a community. I wouldn't feel safe coming to this space, as an lgbt+ person I feel attacked by what she wants to do. Dom doesn't deserve this kind of hate! Long live Yungblud!!
Dom (Yungblud) and the BHC are one of the safest spaces in the current world. The world we are living in can be a very scary place but knowing there are people that have your back, and support you, from wherever they are in the world, makes it that bit more bearable.
I fully support Dom as everything he does come from a place of love. He would never deliberately do something that would cause another person harm.
BHC forever 🖤
So nice scanning the comments and finding how much support people have had within this community and from finding Dom.
Although I'm not really sure Heather understands what's going on here or has read the petition at all.
I found Dom at a time when the world was falling apart and watching him navigate it helped me navigate it too.
Because of his community I was able to work out a lot of things about myself, including becoming the painter that I currently am.
I will always fully support the change/positivity/things he puts out into the world. He gets far too much hate and we have watched him struggle far too much because of it.
This exhibition is going to be put on by an artist who has spent the last 4 years harassing him. She is incredibly ill and deserves all kinds of support to get better but this space helping her put this exhibition on will be nothing but a tool to continue the questionable behavior and the harassment of a man who really does not deserve or needs it.
Any overshadowing of this community, which is a positive one, is not okay either.
As this person has behaved in such questionable ways I can understand why people would not feel safe being around them, especially if they are in the minority groups this person targets.
This petition is a call for the cancellation of the exhibition and I can fully understand why!
This is not a complaint against the event space, just a reminder they have a responsibility and I back it fully.
I found dom (yungblud) in a time of my life where I was working a toxic job and also recovering from an eating disorder, dom taught me that it is only myself that I have in this world to rely on. I recovered, got a new job and a promotion and I graduate in September with honors and an opportunity to further my career within the sector I work in. Dom gives me strength and courage to know I am capable of pretty much anything I dream about.thanks to dom I have compleated things I would never of dreamed of and met some of the best people/friends for life through the bhc..
I found Dom (Yungblud) after leaving an abusive relationship and getting myself clean from drugs. His community of people became my community and even more some of them became like family. My life ultimately became beautiful again and full of love because of Dom.
I discovered Dom in 2020 during lockdown. I loved how passionate and driven he was for the causes he supports. How he created a place for people to be themselves and feel safe. That he encourages artistic expression. His community consists of so many different types of people from all walks of life. 5 years later and I am still fully on board with what yungblud stands for and what this community means to me. The BHC is meant to be about leading with love, so I do hope this art studio would consider denying Theresa this space because everything she does now and has done for the last four years has been to tear down yungblud, his family and his community.
Aloha! I discovered YUNGBLUD (Dom) at the beginning of COVID lockdown here in my state of Hawaii. I heard Fleabag on our local tv music alternative station & instantly fell in love with his sound & had to know everything about him. I went down the rabbit hole on YouTube & learned all of his music & watched dozens of interviews. I was right along side the YUNGBLUD show while he was locked down in Venice, California which is near my hometown where I grew up.
My beloved father whom I was extremely close with passed unexpectedly in 2021 (non covid related) & to say that Dom’s music helped me navigate my grief is an understatement. Although I’ve yet to see him live because he’s never done a tour even remotely close to Maui, on my bucket list is for my husband & I to have the money to be able to travel to the west coast USA to see him. Unfortunately he announced his USA tour too close to the date this August which is not enough time for us to save money. Dom is a precious soul, and I’ve seen Teresa Foley’s unhinged & frankly emotionally damaging Tik Tok posts about him & partner Jesse Jo Stark. I don’t know how she is still allowed a platform with her harmful & aggressive threats. She doesn’t belong anywhere near him or represent ANY of his core values.
