I’ve been saying all year now that I’ve been really struggling to drive at night, these new headlights look like they’ve got full beam on when they’re oncoming, literally can’t see a thing
I'm sick and tired of travelling at night and having to slow right down or pull over to the side of the road because I have been blinded by these very white lights. They are very painful on the eyes as well. One of these nights I will be having an accident, and of course, it will be my fault because I couldn't see! Tone down the lights please.
Although I can see very well to drive at night, these headlights completely prevent me from seeing the road. I have to memorize the road and remember to drive to the right of the oncoming car (US). These headlights keep me from driving at night. It's not safe.
Bright headlights are terribly dangerous, especially to drivers who are older and have more sensitivity in their eyesight. There should be a limit on this – it is no joke.
The brightness of car headlights has become so problematic for me that the only way I can travel in a vehicle in the dark is by being blindfolded. Otherwise I get nausea, headaches and it has triggered an asthma attack. Driving is out of the question as is travelling far in the dark. So from 4pm I’m not able to travel at all as the darker nights are here. It is so limiting. Glasses are not enough. This issue seems to affect people regardless of light sensitivity, but it is even more problematic for the many people that have light sensitivity and for partial sighted pedestrians. Thank you for doing this petition. I really hope it leads to change to resolve it.
I am a carer and occupational therapist l spend hours driving from 6am to 9lm at night and having to deal with those ridiculously bright lights is putting serious strain on my eyes and now on mental health as l am suffering more migraines because of them.. I visited opticians and my astigmatism has gone much worse and after visiting opticians they told me so many people have the same problem... It's a complete nuisance and it's extreemly dangerous. People in normal cars are completely blonded by suvs like range and land rovers those are awful.. I cant see anything for ages when being blinded by those ridiculously bright lights.. This has to be regulated and ASAP.. It's not just extreemly dangerous but also putting presure on those that are having to drive long periods of the time for whatever reason.. I love my job but the driving now is unbearable because of this..
Driving at night has become unbearable, with ultra bright headlights removing my ability to see beyond their glare. But why at 3pm when it's a little bit grey do we get swamped with ultra bright headlights when you can still see for miles without lights? The car that totally dazzled me the other day with both headlights and one fog light was actually signalling to turn right. The yellow indicator was hardly noticeable under the excessive glare of the other unnecessary lights.
I am finding that I avoid going out after dark for fear of having an accident as I am so often blinded by the bright headlights , as I get older I am afraid of being socially isolated - currently my husband drives on a night but he too is finding it more difficult and pretty soon he won’t want to go out on a night either - there must surely be an increase in accidents so many people are complaining about this in my circle of friends and acquaintances- making this restriction could save lives
I really struggle to see when driving due to the bright white lights on cars, both on coming and in my rear view lights. They are way too blinding and really dangerous, I am witnessing way too many near misses as a result. On top of that, as a driver that had M.E., fobromyalgia and hypermobility with many symptoms, the extra issues these lights create are phenomenal and damaging to daily management/way of life/long term health conditions.
