As a lover of wild swimming, it is now dangerous to swim because of sewage in our lakes and rivers. Also, more importantly, it affects all the wildlife.

As an aged kayaker who enjoys kayaking in Windermere, Coniston and other lakes in the Lake District I'm now really fearful that I'll get ill from all the sewage that's polluting our waterways. This has got to stop to protect our lakes and rivers and allow people to enjoy our waterways without fear of getting I'll.

As a visiting American for the second time returning 2025 . Additionally, three other couples will be joining me and this is their first introduction to this amazing canal. Wales is underserved by tourist as if you are not understanding the potential of your country where unique experiences are available . The loss of those business and small villages we stop in to spend money at their pubs and stores will be a shame to turn this area into a widespread unemployment area other wise whose live hood depends on the canal. Additionally you have the Breacon National Park which is a treasure you are not fully utilizing or advertising outside your country. I’m just astonished at the limited shortsighted government that right in your country is a big positive tourism flashing $$. Please choose wisely how you take the historical value and future of villages and businesss who earn a living serving those who use the canal that generate a living for your countryman .

The canals are a great British asset. I learned to paddle board on the Monmouth and Brecon canal, and go there regularly for the enjoyment of the peace and nature that it supports, in harmony with the boaters slow pace of life.

I live in the Wolverhampton/Birmingham area, my partner and I used to love going fishing (catch and release) in alot of parts of the canal, we ended up stopping because of the sheer amount of rubbish in the canal, trolleys, rubbish bags, tires, general rubbish, bottles and cans, it just wasn't a pleasurable experience anymore, and we where paying for our fishing licence to fish in that mess, that money is supposed to go towards the up keep of the canal and waterways.. yet we would be there almost daily, for most of the day, for years.. and never once saw any work or upkeep being done. It used to be beautiful back in the day, and now you can't walk 20 steps without seeing a trolley or tires or rubbish.. They also need to restock fish as the numbers are now dwindling because of chemical and oil spills that have been happening on certain parts of the canal that are directly beside factories.
