I worked in Fairfax city for over 20 years. Have a bite was always my go to when I went out for lunch. In fact, it's my favorite restaurant in the northern Virginia area. I absolutely love it and even though I don't work in Fairfax city anymore, I still go to have a bite. They want so badly and deserve to stay in Fairfax city. They have more than proven that they are a loyal business to Fairfax city and have given back to the community.

With his own small business around the corner, my dad made Havabite a famiy pillar in Old Town Fairfax. I grew up eating their burgers and Greek specialties whenever I was at his shop, with the owners posting my drawings on the walls amongst those from other kids who came through. As I got older, I'd bring friends for a meal and eventually my own family. I cannot imagine Fairfax without Havabite -- not just because the food is great, but the establishment is enmeshed in the community and the community in it.

HavABite is my favorite place! I feel lost with it closed. It’s been my go to for over 20 years.

I have grown up in the City of Fairfax and have been a regular customer at Havabite since I was a child. Please allow it to remain a part of our Old Town

This was my very first job as a teenager - the original family that owned the restaurant were the best - a true family. Have a Bite always had its regular customers and is a big supporter of GMU. I would hate to see them go - I have moved out of the city after moving there in 1976 and still stop by for some awesome food whenever I can. It is a shame that TT Reynolds is not there and having new places is nice but we need to preserve the GREAT old places as well. We have plenty of new in Fairfax City - follow the old some - Make new friends but keep the old!!!! The old establishments mean so much to us - we now take our kids there. So many GREAT memories.

Mayor Reid, please do what you can to protect our local businesses and don’t let greed over take our community. Havabite eatery is comfort, it’s delicious, fresh and it’s one of the corner stones of this community. As I’ve lived here, it’s been the best spot on a summer evening, or a fall afternoon with some soup.

I've been involved with The City of Fairfax Theatre Company for years. When we would rehearse and perform in Old Town Hall, I loved walking down that quaint little block to Havabite. I can't imagine that block without it. When I got Covid for the first time, a friend brought me Avgolemono soup from Havabite, and after a few days of not feeling like much, it honestly tasted amazing and lifted my spirits. It's become a special place for me, even when I would just pop in for a soda on a ten minute break from rehearsal. Fairfax is a special place, and small businesses like Havabite are why!

Please--SAVE this Business and its' location! There's not a great deal of the "real" City of Fairfax left that hasn't been given over to developers, et al!! Who needs yet another chain restaurant or the like in this City? One cannot replace old-fashioned family places and good food like Havabite has given all of us over the years-- not to mention the friendliness & personal touch of the owners, etc. Easy to get just another ho-hum restaurant--not easy to get another place like Havabite!!! Let's get wise and try not to lose this one!

Havabite Eatery means so much to me and my family. It’s been part of the Fairfax community for so long and I’ve been going there for dinners and lunch with my family since I was a kid. My brother got his first job working at Havabite. The owners have always been such wonderful, kind, extremely caring, nice people. Every time my family and I came into the restaurant we were welcomed in with smiles, questions of how we were doing and how our days were going. Not only that, they recognized us and remembered our orders - specifically my dad’s order, who has a particular diet so the attention to his order really showed how much they cared. They would make conversation with us and make sure we had everything we needed and enjoyed everything. I particularly LOVE their calzones. Easily the best I’ve ever had and probably ever will have in my opinion. This restaurant easily feels like and became something of a home away from home. I’ve since moved from Fairfax to Annandale. I’ve missed their food and atmosphere so much that when I saw you could order from them on UberEats I got extremely happy and ordered immediately (and then for 3 more nights after that! lol!). I even left them a note telling them how much I’ve missed going to the restaurant and their food since moving. I love havabite. It’s a staple in fairfax families and the overall community with a lovely homey atmosphere that I can’t imagine not having around in the Old Town Fairfax community anymore. Its somewhere I hope will stand the test of time for as long as possible so I can take my children one day and they too can enjoy it as much as I have my whole life.
