I love Portland Athletic Club! I’ve played here since I was 5 years old and it’s really important to me and my family, along with so many other people. Please keep it open!! 🎾
Tennis is known to be a ‘sport of a lifetime’, and for 15+ years at many of the Portland Public Parks I ran short tennis camp for youth from all backgrounds. Having Black tennis leaders in our Portland community help expand this fantastic sport and truth be told that the sport teaches many life lessons allowing them to grow up as positive role models and leaders in the community. Please save this club and its leadership!
I am the owners eldest granddaughter. I have worked at PAC on and off since I as 14. I want my grandfathers legacy to be remembered for who he was and what he has done for this community. The conservator should sell to a Family member or community member. We are prepared to fight for tennis, the legacy and the community here.
My name is Siamak Hajarizadeh. I am a tennis professional at the PAC. I have been blessed to be part of this iconic club. In the past year I have seen this club flourish. The management has been a joy to work with because they have a true passion for our life long sport of tennis. The management has hired world class tennis professionals and more importantly fantastic mentors to up and coming junior players. The PAC also services to so many tennis fans from all over the metropolitan area. The closing of Portland Athletic Club would be a great loss to our community.
Making Election Day a federal holiday in the United States could increase voter turnout by providing citizens with more time to vote without work conflicts. In the 2020 election, 13.1% of registered voters who didn’t vote cited being too busy or having scheduling conflicts as the reason. Additionally, such a holiday would celebrate democracy, turning voting into a nationwide event. This approach aligns with practices in other countries and has significant public support; a Pew Research Center survey found that nearly 80% of Democrats and nearly 70% of Republicans favor making Election Day a federal holiday.
Many teenagers, like myself, are politically educated and want a say in who rules our country. If the voting age is lowered, it means that younger voices would be heard, it would promote more voting, and possibly encourage more teens to educate themselves politically to prepare. Sixteen year olds should be allowed to vote and stand for what they believe in.
My wife & I loved this show & watched it every week. There aren't many things we like on TV(eg: Game Shows, Singing Competitions, Reality TV shows like Amazing Race, etc.), but loved So Help Me Todd. Many nights, we find ourselves watching PBS due to the lack of great shows on free, Antenna-based TV. We don't Stream or have Cable, so our options are limited. So Help Me Todd checked all the boxes for us & we hope U put it back on the Air on 1 o/the big 5 networks.
