Ever since trying "Mexican" Coke for the first time, I knew that it had to be better than the "Classic" Coca-Cola we get here in the United States of Deception. Instead of it being kind of syrupy and overly sweet, the cane sugar version tastes light and crisp, without leaving a residue in the mouth. It's just funny in a very sad way that in order to enjoy the real thing (minus the cocaine of course) as Americans, we have to purchase Coca-Cola that was made in Mexico, which is just about the most unAmerican thing I can think of. And as someone pointed out in another comment, it is odd that as consumers in what is widely considered to be a health-conscious and free market, why is it that real cane sugar Coca-Cola is not sold nor made here? We are the originators, for Pete's sake! We invented it! How can it be that it is not available here? Also, consumers need to be vigilant as to what is in their products. Just recently I learned that there is a really distinct difference between sodas with "real sugar" versus "cane sugar", etc. Mexican Coke has "cane sugar". Pepsi has "real sugar". What's the difference? Mexican Coke contains the real deal cane sugar you would expect. Meanwhile, Pepsi-Cola made with real sugar means that it is most likely made in part with beet sugar. To me, the Pepsi-Cola is gross because it seems to have an aspartame taste to it.
I was 18 when Crystal Pepsi first came out , and I loved it. Crystal Pepsi was better than the original Pepsi in my opinion and I was an avid drinker of Original Pepsi in a 16 oz glass bottle. I am from a small town and we only got the plastic 2 liter ,but I would pick it over any other soda if the store had it. There was just something about it, because it had the Pepsi flavor and not the carmel coloring. I can still remember the difference between drinking it vs. any other soda ,it just did not make your stomach feel heavy afterwards. When it was re-released a couple of years ago I was only able to find 7 of the 20 oz bottles. That was a huge disappointment. Pepsi you just have to be a little patient with people because I know it will sell. The last time it was released nobody I knew or talked to had any idea that it was released. A little more advertising (with new devices = super cheap vs T.V.) Even a set time of year like you were doing with Baja blast Dew ,before it was on all the time like it is now. Any option to have it available again is a great one. The last time it was available if people knew it was for sale it would have sold better. All of us who remember the original will buy it again just to recapture a moment from our youth, and the younger generations will have to decide for themselves. We are still the X generation.
