The Issue

I am a resident of the United States and like many others, I enjoy Coca Cola, Sprite and Fanta.

However, it has come to my attention that the Coca Cola, Sprite and Fanta we consume here in America is not made the same way as it is in Mexico, Central and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

In those regions, Coca Cola products use real sugar as a sweetener instead of high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), which has been used in American variants since 1985 when sugar became too pricey due to the sugar tax.

The use of HFCS has been linked with health issues such as obesity and diabetes (source: Mayo Clinic). Meanwhile, real sugar does not have these associated risks when consumed moderately.

This discrepancy feels unfair, as consumers, we deserve to have access to healthier options just like our counterparts across the globe. We should not be subjected to potentially harmful ingredients due to geographical location or corporate decisions based on cost-effectiveness.

The only time Coca-Cola Products in America are made with real sugar is during Jewish Passover. After that you won't be able to find a real sugar coke product other than the ones from Mexico and unlike brands like Pepsi, Crush and other soda brands who make and sell real sugar American versions of their sodas this is a huge inconvenience to those that enjoy real or cane sugar sodas over HFCS ones.

By signing this petition, you are urging Coca Cola, Pepsi and other soda brands to consider their consumers' health and well-being by returning to using real sugar for their American products or make versions with made with real sugar only.

Let's make our voices heard for a healthier future! Please sign this petition today so that we can have the Sodas made with sugar like the rest of the world.
