Personally, I have experienced the harmful effects of not being able to use a bathroom when needed. I am a public servant and I transport people with disabilities daily.
Worked around Auburn for sometime ran an outreach program and did front desk work for a bit. Phil Morgan called me "sensitive" for pointing out unprofessional communications, deadnamed me and regularily misgendered me. I did everything I could not to be alone with him. He is an harmful man to this wonderful organization and community.
One of the biggest games in my life has been civ for the past 25 years. My wife who i love more than everything has never been into games, but this single feature of Civ has brought not only another love for a new hobbies into our life's but a new found love for the game and also opened new found interests that we didn't know that we shared. After getting the Founders edition only to find this missing hurts us both deeply.
I originally found this game through a friend. We played Hotseat & I immediately went home to buy the game. My friends, partner, & I have played over 900 hours together in Hotseat, sharing laughter & irreplaceable memories together while playing. I think not implementing Hotseat on release was a HUGE failure. Forcing us to have every member of our family pay to play (most likely in different rooms if your household is set up like ours ((PC in one room, PS5 in another))) is absolutely abhorrent when this is a game that brings people together. Now we are forced to pay for every member of our family & play in different rooms. It’s sterile &, honestly, kills the joy & love I have for this game. If Hotseat is not implemented, I will not be buying, no matter HOW MUCH I absolutely love CIV.
I feel ripped off. You took my money for this game having removed one of the key features that we all have come to depend on. If you don't fix this you will lose the trust of thousands of loyal fans!
My wife and I enjoyed playing civ 6 hot seat while she was pregnant, I was about to buy civ 7 so we could teach our son but the lack of hot seat made me change my mind, I want to enjoy the new game but it wouldn’t be the same with the family
I have owned every game in the civilization franchise. My father started playing "hot seat" with my brother and I way back in civ2. Now as a father of 4 daughters it's become our favorite inclement weather family activity. Pop in a movie, boot up civilization, and pass the mouse while we watch TV. I don't follow gaming news so I was unaware the "hot seat" option wouldn't be available in civ7. Imagine the disappointment when release day rolled around after I had pre-ordered and had to tell my kids sorry guess I dragged you all out of your rooms for nothing.
I never thought Firaxis would join the cult of predatory commerce. Families and friends who bonded over hotseat multiplayer won’t be able to anymore, because WHO THE FUCK CAN BUY THE GAME MULTIPLE TIMES AND DEVICES so they can have meaningful time on the couch with loved ones. Oh I know who can, the rich who get richer by the day. We’re getting squeezed in every direction. This game means nothing if I can’t share it with my parter or my kids. Not buying unless they fix this. SAD DAY for what I thought was one of the best franchises out there.
My wife and I are devastated that hotseat isn't included. We love Civ so much we scheduled two days off work before our anniversary on February 8th so we could play civ together over a long 4 day weekend on the couch. Very sad that this easy to include feature is missing and just seems like another excuse for corporate greed to force more purchases.
My partner actually got me into these games via the hotseat option. We've sunk hours into Civ 6, just passing a controller back and forth, experimenting with different game modes. It's incredibly disappointing if that's not an available option in Civ 7 and I'm sure ruins a lot of people like me who play these games with family and friends. But, realistically, why should I pay $60+ for an incomplete game? And that is exactly what Civ 7 will be without hotseat functionality.
